Ashley Jackson is a second-year environmental horticulture master’s student at the University of Florida. Her research focuses on improving the production of native wildflower species, including woodland poppymallow (Callirhoe papaver) and southern beeblossom (Oenothera simulans), through seed germination and vegetative propagation techniques. Additionally, she is evaluating performance of native species within urban landscape conditions and hopes to produce management guidelines for consumers and landscape professionals. Ashley is on track to graduate December 2026 and hopes to pursue a career working for a botanical garden, supporting conservation while educating the public about the aesthetic and ecological value of native plants.
