Dr. Hector Pérez is a professor at the University of Florida in the UF/IFAS Department of Environmental Horticultural Sciences. He teaches seed biology and plant conservation & restoration.
Dr. Pérez collaborates with conservation and restoration practitioners, land managers and native plant producers throughout the region in an effort to improve conservation and restoration outcomes. He also works closely with the Florida wildflower seed industry to enhance wildflower seed biology knowledge thereby enhancing opportunities for this expanding agricultural sector.

Dr. Pérez has a B.S. in Entrepreneurship, Florida Atlantic University, a B.S. in Environmental Horticulture, University of Florida, an M.S. in Environmental Horticulture, University of Florida and a Ph.D. in Horticulture: Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology Specialization, University of Hawaii.
