Enhance your plant knowledge critical for design and landscape management, gain key insights to immediately apply in professional practice, resulting in more successful projects through informed plant selection and use. The multi-instructor format guarantees that a variety of experiences with the plants are presented, including use in commercial, residential and park sites throughout North and North Central Florida, and even other parts of the state.

required for credential applicants.
COURSE OUTLINE
For each of the twenty North Central Florida native plant and tree species (listed below), instructors will present address these topics:
- Key identification characteristics
- Form and landscape use, including best features
- Aesthetic considerations for landscape use, including mature size and other characteristics to be aware of (ex: thorns)
- Ecological benefits of using the plant
- Recommended cultural conditions (soil, exposure, water, hardiness, life span)
- Proper planting and establishment practices
- Pruning and shaping for plant health and form
- Long-term maintenance considerations, if any
- Where applicable, recommended companion plantings
- Critical need-to-know information that may not be available elsewhere, based on decades of on-the-ground experience using these plants in the landscape.
