Stetson University is located in Deland, Volusia County.

Classes will take place in the Stetson Room, Carlton Union Building (CUB), which serves as the Student Union. There is a coffee shop on the ground floor. Some activities Wednesday morning will take place outside the CUB.

LANDSCAPE HISTORY: Before settlement, DeLand was a vast sandhill ecosystem, covered in Longleaf Pine and grassy meadows. This system was converted to orange groves and town. For a perhaps not entirely accurate but entertaining history of the town’s first landscaping project, planting trees, see this West Volusia Historical Society Facebook post. The town’s early planting project has given Woodland Boulevard, the main street leading to the University, a beautiful arching tree canopy.
