Linda Seals

University of Florida
Extension Agent

Linda Seals’ passion for plants began at an early age on a small farm in south-central Indiana. That passion inspired her to earn BS and MS degrees in ornamental horticulture from the University of Tennessee. Linda began her career with UF/IFAS Extension in 2002 in Palm Beach County where she worked as the Master Gardener Coordinator. In 2006, Seals moved to Brevard County to work as the commercial horticulture extension agent where she developed educational programs targeting landscapers, nurseries, and small farmers. She served as county extension director from 2012 to 2018 before starting her current position as a regional specialized agent for southeast Florida. In this new position, Linda works with local governments and organizations to build sustainable communities. Recently, she served as co-chair for the 2019 National Sustainability Summit held in Tampa, Florida, attended by over 180 sustainability professionals from academia and business. Linda is co-chair of the National Network for Sustainable Living Educators, and is a strong advocate for science-based information that enables communities to thrive.
