Alyssa runs her family’s native nursery and landscaping company, Alexander Landscaping & Plant Farm, in Davie, Florida, where she and her husband Jeff are raises their young son Zach along with free-ranging chickens and other creatures. Previously, Alyssa was schoolteacher in the Broward County public school system.

Alyssa serves on the board of directors for both Florida Association of Native Nurseries (FANN) and the Native Plant Horticulture Foundation. She is also a Habitat Steward, Florida Master Gardener and member of the Broward Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society.

Alyssa has a B.A. in Education from Florida Atlantic University.
