Tired of wetland edges being hard to manage? Bogged down with roadside ditches? Swamped with trash in your water gardens? Then this talk is for you as we focus on ditches, retention pond edges, and invasive species management in detail.
Florida native plant gardening is a fast growing community, but native plants in water gardening are basically unknown outside a few species. This lack of knowledge and unique maintenance issues act to block many from attempting it. Invasive grasses, lack of herbicides suited for water use, fluctuating water and nutrient levels, and lastly algae growth are four of the biggest roadblocks for even experienced managers. Come on in and take a dive, starting with roadside ditches common to most homes we will then move to more complex and difficult examples. See what works, what doesn’t, and what you should do as you put on your rain boots and let’s make a splash!
