This hands-on workshop emphasizes the identification, selection, specification, and cultivation of high-quality specimens of the twenty native plant species listed below, with special attention to plant health and care. Growers will share insights on how these plants are cultivated and maintained for both nursery production and landscape settings. Instructors will discuss live containerized and in-ground specimens, providing participants with practical knowledge for recognizing, selecting, and sustaining healthy, aesthetically appealing plants.

For each of the twenty Central Florida Classics plant species (listed below), instructors will address:
Key identification characteristics
Ecotypes/seed source
Selection of high-quality nursery specimens
Container sizes and specifications
Fertilization and nutrient management
Pruning and shaping for plant health and form
Common pests and diseases in nursery settings
Shelf life/step-up recommendations
