Natives to Use Now in Your Landscapes
1 hour including questions & answer time, opening session

Present a selection of 12-20 Florida native plants – smaller trees, shrubs, flowering plants, ornamental grasses, groundcovers and vines – that should be used more in Central Florida landscapes.
Focus on selection, use and maintenance of native species that are well adapted to the Central Florida region. Species may be underutilized but should be relatively available or production capable of being scaled to meet demand. Where appropriate, indicate commonly used non-natives for which the natives shown can substitute.

Central Florida Classics: 20 Trees & Palms
Serve as panelist presenter speaking on 4-5 plants from this year’s micro-credential list, for a total of 20 minutes presentation and additional time addressing questions and answers

FANN’s 2025 micro-credential, Central Florida Classics, focuses on a set of 16 native trees and four native palms suitable for use in Central Florida. Presenters should have deep experience with the specific 4-5 credential species they will present on, and their presentation should focus on key identification, selection, use and maintenance information for select species.

Natives for Tough Spots
1 hour

Roadsides, parking lots, rights-of-way, medians, retention ponds, canal banks, drainage ditches, swales, shoreline embankments, hell strips, shaded alcoves and more — every landscape professional knows the challenge of dealing with “tough spots” to landscape. Fortunately, many native plants make good selections for these tough spots. If you have experience to share, we’d love for you to present on this topic.
