The Florida Association of Native Nurseries (FANN), a premier provider of practical native plant education for design and green industry professionals, is hosting the Florida Native Plant Seminar, a continuing education and networking event, at the Stetson University in Deland, Florida on Wednesday and Thursday, November 5-6, 2025. In addition to FANN’s own micro-credential, the seminar will provide CEUs for landscape architects, FNGLA certified professionals, ISA certified arborists and other horticulture and landscape industry certifications.
The Stetson campus demonstrates the value of shade in a hot land thanks to enormous Live Oaks, Shumard Oaks, Bald Cypress, Sabals and more. FANN appreciates the native dominant landscape. The campus was selected by Southern Living magazine as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the South, due to the abundance of trees and other vegetation and the historic red brick buildings. Stetson University was founded in 1883 and yes, it’s named for the same Stetson of the big cowboy hat fame (alumni are referred to as Hatters). FANN will be crafting a native tree-heavy program and plenty of opportunities to relax and network with the native plant industry.
FANN’s Seminar will cover a variety of native plants but highlight twenty species ready to use now in Central Florida landscapes, as part of FANN’s professional micro-credential for 2025.
